Loren and Bertha (Bert) Hatfield bought the land for Island View Resort in 1952. After Loren’s death in 1969, Bert ran the resort by herself and with the help of her grandchildren. Bert passed away in August 2000.
Island View is still owned and operated by Hatfield’s–Loren and Bert’s four grandchildren and their families.
